TWILL pattern bar

COMING SOON!

Pattern bar to make a diagonal woven stripe with 2-2 twill. Create beautiful diagonal and zigzag patterns with one or more weft colors. Fits both the metal frame loom and the cherrywood model. Interchangeable.

This pattern bar creates a diagonal woven pattern slanting up toward the right when rotated. When the rotation is reversed, the diagonal also reverses, slanting left. By changing directions, you can create zigzag patterns in the weft, as shown in the yellow weaving in the pics. The more random zigzag pattern in that pic was also created with TWILL, using two colors of weft and the “boundweave of opposites” technique. For more about the TWILL pattern bar, watch the brief video in this listing or watch the longer video in the “getting started” videos.

Like all our pattern bars besides plain weave, TWILL uses a floating selvedge at the beginning and end of each row. This is a neat feature that makes sure you always capture the last warp thread in a row and have a tidy edge. The floating selvedge warp thread is halfway between the “up” position and the “down” position. Use it this way: Go under it when entering a row, and over it when exiting a row, no matter which way you are weaving. More info in the getting started videos.

This pattern bar has a short section of plain weave at each edge.
