The BOSS in cherrywood PLUS STARTER KIT!
Limited edition! The boomloom BOSS in cherrywood PLUS a starter kit with everything you need to make one plain-weave piece.
This is a special hardwood version of our patternmaking loom the BOSS. We are crazy about these. They are small-batch looms in cherrywood, made for us in Salem, NY by bespoke furniture makers New Collar Goods. The two-piece design connects with 12” hard maple dowels from Maine-based company Kemp Woods.
You will receive:
One cherrywood loom with two hardwood maple dowels
One plain weave pattern bar
STARTER KIT:
Enough yarn and warp thread to make one piece. Yarn colors will vary but will be a combination of chunky and worsted-weight all-wool yarn in jewel-tone colors.
One wood tapestry needle custom-made for us as well as a plastic shuttle-type needle that can be loaded with yarn and thinner tapestry needles
One small beater comb

These are incredibly well made and simple weaving tools that can be used as a frame loom or with our pattern bars. They are sturdy, stable and comfortable to use on a table or a lap. The cherrywood is beautifully finished with a natural oil finish and feels wonderful in the hand. They slip apart for storage or travel. To weave a longer piece, they can be lengthened with longer 1/2” diameter dowels, readily available in stores and online from suppliers including Home Depot.
Weaving width is about 6.5”, weaving length about 10” below the pattern bar. EPI is about 6. Mid-weight knitting yarn like worsted or DK weight works perfectly, as does thicker rug-tufting yarn and cotton yarn like Sugar N Cream.
Uses all the same bars as the original Boss. A pattern bar that makes 2/2 twill is available in a separate listing. Additional patterns will be released throughout the year!
This loom arrives un-assembled. To assemble, slide dowels into the pre-drilled holes. NOTE! The dowels will fit loosely, and the frame will be wiggly until it is warped. After warping it will be tight, with very little play in the frame.
