about us
I'm an artist and a maker who designed the boomloom during the pandemic as a way to make weaving more intuitive and expressive, and to close the gap between the craft and the art. Probably I also wanted to hijack our smartphone compulsions by putting something tactile and analog in our hands. I run this business with help from my family, out of our home in NJ.
about our looms
Our new patented design re-imagines the pattern-making loom: Just two pieces. A fast set-up. An intuitive, fingertip motion. The pattern is generated by rotating the bar, so it's fluid and endless. Switch directions and colors to create, vary, expand, and compress the pattern. Each bar can create a kaleidoscopic range of designs. To change patterns mid-weaving, switch bars. Keeper slots capture the beginning and end of the warp thread to make stringing easy. EPI (ends per inch) is about 6.
The original boomloom fixes the rotating heddle bar into a little one-piece frame. The heddle bar forms the shed — the space between the warp threads — so you don’t have to pass the yarn in and out, just back and forth through the shed. Perfect for kids, crafters, beginners, and anyone who wants to make something quickly, easily, with no fuss.
We've sold looms to customers all over the world including France, Japan, Mexico, Canada, Australia, Alaska, Los Angeles, Guam, London, Colorado, New Zealand, Brooklyn, Switzerland, and Salt Lake City. We also sell at the Whitney Museum Shop and the Cooper Hewitt Museum Shop in NYC!
