Pattern bar to weave the complex, fascinating, versatile Krokbragd pattern without drafts or shafts. Fits the metal or cherrywood version of the Boss.
Our pattern bars can be used as a sort of system to learn weaving, and each set of skills builds on the next. Krokbragd is a more complicated weave and it can be helpful to work through Twill, Diamond, and Monk’s Belt first. However, it works exactly the same as our other bars — pass the yarn through a shed and rotate the bar to form the pattern. So as long as the weaver is comfortable using more than one color of yarn to weave, anyone can use it to experiment and play. Like all our pattern bars it uses a floating selvedge to create tidy edges. Learn about the floating selvedge in our Overview or Getting Started videos.
Complete how-to video is available on our site and additional materials are being added.
About Krokbragd: The Krokbragd pattern looks complex but is built from a simple repeating structure: a single patterned row made with three sheds. Rotate the bar forward in between each shed; create the pattern by varying the colors. Lends itself to endless pattern play and experimentation.
Note: Purchase pattern bars separately or purchase all four together for a discount here.
