Limited edition! The boomloom BOSS in cherrywood. LOOM AND PLAIN WEAVE PATTERN BAR ONLY.
This is a special wood version of our patternmaking loom the BOSS. They are small-batch looms in cherrywood, made for us in Salem, NY by bespoke furniture makers New Collar Goods. The simple design assembles with 12” hard maple dowels from Maine-based wood supply company Kemp Woods. Note that the dowels will fit loosely, and the frame will be wiggly until it is warped. After warping it will be tight, with very little play in the frame. We designed it this way instead of assembled and glued, so you can swap out longer dowels for a longer weaving length. We also like that it comes apart for storage and travel. Like all our looms, this is not a loom to weave yardage on — your piece will be as long as the loom is when you begin weaving.

These are incredibly well made and simple weaving tools. They are sturdy, stable and comfortable to use on a table or a lap. The cherrywood is beautifully finished with a natural oil finish and feels wonderful in the hand. It comes apart easily for storage or travel and can be lengthened with longer 1/2” diameter dowels, readily available in stores and online from suppliers including Home Depot.
Weaving width is about 6.5”, weaving length about 10” below the pattern bar, about 12” total length without the pattern bar. EPI is about 6.
If you do not have weaving tools like a long wood tapestry needle with a big eye, a small shuttle, a beater comb, or any yarn or warp thread, you might be interested in the loom with starter kit, sold here, which has all of those tools and supplies that we have sourced especially for this size loom, and a cotton drawstring bag.

This loom arrives un-assembled. To assemble, slide dowels into the pre-drilled holes.
